الحديث عن سيد درويش لا يكاد ينتهى إلا ويبدأ من جديد

إن الجو الذى خلقه سيد درويش بموسيقاه أثر بعمق فى وجدان الناس واستمر أثره لعشرات السنين ولا زالت موسيقاه تحدث نفس الأثر كلما سمعت ولا يمل المرء من تكرار سماعها إذ أنها تميزت تميزا فريدا فى الأصالة وحسن التعبير

الحقيقة هى أن فن سيد درويش جزء من تراث أمة تعتز بمبدعيها كما تعتز بأصالتها ، وهو جزء من كفاح شعب متصل من أجل آمال تحققت وآمال لم تتحقق بعد

ها نحن نكتب عن سيد درويش بعد مرور أكثر من ثمانين عاما على وفاته ، وكاتب هذه السطور قد ولد بعد وفاة سيد درويش ، فما الذى يدعونا إلى ذلك؟ سنحاول هنا أن نجيب على هذا السؤال 

كتب كثيرون عن سيد درويش وظهرت أعماله فى الإذاعة والمسرح والسينما والتليفزيون بعد وفاته بسنوات طويلة ، وهو هنا يختلف عن غيره من الفنانين الذين استمرت أعمالهم بعد وفاتهم ، إذ أن موسيقاه قد ظهرت ثانية بعد فترة طويلة من التوارى زادت على ثلاثين عاما أعقبت وفاته المفاجئة عام 1923 

فكيف تعود  وبقوة بعد هذا الانقطاع الطويل وتنتشر فى أجيال لم تعاصر سيد درويش ولم تسمع أعماله قط

صدر أيضا عن سيد درويش عديد من الكتب والمقالات ، ونحاول نحن هنا التركيز على الجوانب الفنية فى أعماله أكثر من أحداث حياته
